“Communication Theory is Useless”: Four reasons that is not true

What do gossip, book clubs, The Salvation Army, and my boyfriend’s sporadic gym attendance have in common? They are all practical examples of different communication theories being applied to life.

This four-part series will chronicle applications of four different communication theories for the next four Tuesdays:

1. Post-positivism on February 18th;

2. Hermeneutic on February 25th;

3. Critical on March 4th; and

4. Normative on March 11th.

The series de-brief will be posted on March 12th.

Stay tuned to see why communications theory is not useless! Pst, reason one is released tomorrow and it may or may not be about gossip… But that’s just what I heard. Don’t tell anyone. Just kidding: tell everyone.
